Interstate 10 reopens in both directions near Picacho Peak

Interstate 10 reopened around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night in both directions following multiple crashes in the Picacho Peak area, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The crashes are believed to be related to blowing dust and occurred shortly after noon between mileposts 214 and 216.

The crashes closed down I-10 for nearly 10 hours.

Arizona Department of Transportation officials said the crashes that involved 19 vehicles. Three people were killed.
