Southern Arizonans talk immigration reform

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Hundreds of people voiced their opinions about immigration reform at a symposium at the Berger Performing Arts Center in Tucson Monday night.

Leyda Borrego came out to talk to Congressmen Raul Grijalva and Ron Barber personally about the issue, "my kids father was deported last year. He was the only supporter we used to have and now we're struggling. I don't have work. It's been hard."

The panelists at Monday's symposium also included Southern Arizonan mayors. There is about three weeks in this years' congressional calendar left and some say immigration reform needs to happen soon.

Those opposing immigration reform argue illegal immigrants should not be granted legal status just because they are already living in the country.
