Both lanes of travel on I-10 near Casa Grande are open

Posted: Updated:

The Arizona Department of Transportation is now reporting the eastbound lanes of I-10 near Casa Grande have been reopened.

Two separate accidents on east and westbound sides of I-10 closed travel near Casa Grande, causing traffic delays for drivers.

Earlier story:

Eastbound I-10 remains closed just north of Casa Grande this morning after a series of crashes, according to ADOT.  The freeway remains closed eastbound at Casa Blanca Road, near milepost 175.

The westbound lanes of travel have reopened, according to ADOT, after a separate crash closed the area earlier this morning.

There are two alternative routes for people driving from the Phoenix area toward Tucson on I-10:

Drivers can take Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) east from I-10, to State Route 87 (Arizona Avenue), then travel south to SR 387 and west back to I-10.

Drivers also can take SR 347 south into Casa Grande and return to I-10 using either SR 84 or I-8.

There is no indication when eastbound I-10 will reopen.

For the most current information about highway closures and restrictions statewide, visit ADOT's Travel Information Site at www.az511.gov, follow on Twitter (@ArizonaDOT) or call 5-1-1.
