TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A Tucson man is out of the hospital and in jail, charged with a midtown carjacking.

UAPD Chief Anthony Daykin said a man stole a student's car in a University of Arizona parking lot at knifepoint around 5 p.m. on Oct. 30.

The car was later found in Benson, Ariz., after the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Christopher Fortier, reportedly tried to steal another car and crashed during a chase.

The suspect was hospitalized since Oct. 30 and arrested on Nov. 5, according to police.

He was booked into the Pima County Jail with one count of armed robbery, and faces several other charges in Cochise County.
