TUCSON (Tucson News Now) - The Humane Society of Southern Arizona is offering zero-fee adoptions this weekend as a thank-you to our active military personnel and veterans.

The HSSA is waiving fees for all pets of any age, size and breed through Sunday. A $16 Pima County licensing fee will be required for all dogs 3 months or older.

Each pet adopted from theHSSA will go home fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped. All dogs must be fully leashed before leaving the property. The HSSA encourages adopters to bring a collar or harness and leash or purchase them tax free from the HSSA.

One special cat that will be looking for a home this weekend will be Zuzu.  This cashmere-soft sweetheart enjoys playing with toys, snuggling and bird watching from a sunny window. Although Zuzu adores her human friends, she would prefer ahome without too many other animals.

She appreciates her peace and quiet and would like to have her person all to herself.
