TUCSON, AZ – Arizona women's soccer shut out Arizona State, 2-0, Thursday afternoon at Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium. Thursday's victory over the Sun Devils is the first for the Wildcats since the 2009 season. UA moved to 9-7-4 overall and 4-6-1 in Pac-12 play.

Arizona came out strong on offense with freshman Jaden DeGracie scoring her first goal of the season in the third minute of the match. In the 61st minute, junior Julia Glanz scored her second goal of the season off a flip throw-in from teammate DeGracie. The Wildcats outshot the Sun Devils, 16-12, with senior Jazmin Ponce leading the team with eight.

"I thought it was a great game," head coach Tony Amato said. "We haven't beaten ASU in a few years and we wanted to send off our seniors on a great note. We had a plan from the start and got two great goals off that plan. Overall, we executed well."

In the net, Arizona goalkeeper Gabby Kaufman recorded eight saves for the Wildcats.

Arizona State (9-8-2) took a total of 12 shots with Mckenzie Berryhill, Cali Farquharson and Rachael Ritter each recording two shots apiece. Goalkeeper Chandler Morris recorded a total of seven saves for the Sun Devils.
