PCC's downtown campus hosting event to honor veterans

Happening today, Pima Community College is celebrating Veterans Day with a special event to honor the Americans who risk their lives for our freedom

Organizers of the event tell Tucson News Now that they are excited to hold this event to honor all veterans and active duty members.

Students in the Veterans Association at PCC have been hard at work organizing the event for months.

Officials at PCC say the college is committed to helping the men and women who have served this country.  Over 1,400 veterans enroll at PCC every semester.

The event today will offer information on all the programs PCC has to offer for veterans, it will also indlue speakers, entertainment, food and recognition of local businesses that support veterans.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will be held in front of the library building at the Downtown Campus from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
