Dozens of veterans were welcomed Monday morning at HELP Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, and Electric for the 5th annual Veterans Day celebration.
Since 2009, the company has raised more than $550,000 for local veterans and veterans groups. Money raised in 2013 assisted in fixing the home of Ross High School graduate Sam Shockley.
Staff Sgt. Shockley lost both of his legs and three fingers when an improvised explosive device went off as he was leading troops through Afghanistan.
HELP employees also volunteered time and labor to make the renovations possible.
A catered breakfast was served to local veterans, joined by the USA Army Color Guard and Miss Ohio USA Heather Wells. A check was also presented to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
