Local Catholic families have chance at Vatican survey

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Vatican wants to know what Catholics across the world have to say about some sensitive topics, like gay marriage.

The Diocese of Tucson is taking part in a survey and local Catholic families can even take part.  The survey asks questions regarding sensitive topics like divorce, birth control and same sex marriage.

Tucson News Now spoke with Bishop Gerald Kicanas, who stated the survey is unique because it will collect feedback from local parishioners.  Hundreds of people with ties to the Tucson Diocese are expected to take part.

The survey is broken into nine areas and has a total of 57 questions; feedback worldwide will be collected for a major meeting in Rome in 2015.

Bishop Kicanas states there is a link to the survey on the Tucson Diocese website (http://www.diocesetucson.org) under the tab Bishop's Monday Memo.

Catholic families in Tucson are encouraged to take part.  All questions do not have to be answered.  The surveys will be due by November 24.
