How to help victims of Typhoon Haiyan

(RNN) - Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines on Friday, killing more than 10,000 people. The storm was 1,120 miles with sustained winds of more than 180 mph, which is stronger than a Category 5 hurricane. The storm surge was as high as two stories.

Authorities evacuated more than 800,000 people, but with the wind strength and storm surge, even strong buildings were no match for the typhoon.
