Six suspects face drug charges in Sierra Vista

Six suspects face multiple drug charges following an attempted shipment of marijuana through the U.S. Postal Service.

Sierra Vista Community Response Team received a tip that the drugs were being shipped from a residence on N. West Freihage Drive.

Investigators began surveillance operation and followed a vehicle on Nov. 12 from the residence to the Sierra Vista Post Office. Authorities believed the three suspects in the vehicle were about to ship marijuana through the U.S. Postal Service.

Detectives searched a package being shipped and discovered 1.63 pounds of marijuana.

They arrested 20-year-old Demetrium Swann Gladney, 36-year-old James Benjamin Pierce Jr., and 33-year-old Daniel Joseph Mays. They were booked into the Cochise County Jail, charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and transport of marijuana for sale. They are being held on $10,000 bond.

Investigators conducted a search warrant at the residence and found more than ten pounds of marijuana. The three suspects at the residence were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and transport of marijuana for sale. Police booked 19-year-old Anthony Miguel Stark, 20-year-old Corrina Danae Jones, and 20-year-old Jovane Shaquille Mitchell into the Cochise County Jail, where they are being held on $75,000 bond. 

Police said Jones' 13-month-old child was found sleeping in the master bedroom, next to a large knife. The child was removed by Child Protective Services and Jones was also charged with child abuse.
