TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Kino North Stadium opens for business Friday night when FC Tucson host MLS's Chivas USA.

The match starts at 7 p.m. Gate open at 5:30 with tailgating for the new venues inaugural event to begin in the neighborhood of 3:30.

FC Tucson is expecting a crowd of around 2,000 people although the game is not currently sold out. Tickets for the match can be purchased by going to the site: https://fctucson.ticketsocket.com/.

FC Tucson managing partner Chris Keeney calls the new playing surface at North Stadium, "world class" and fans attending the match can expect an "all-night" party.

Chivas USA is one of MLS's two teams based in Southern California. The subsidiary of the Mexican club C.D. Guadalajara finished 9th in the Western Conference and their 26 points were the second lowest in the entire league.

FC Tucson head coach Rick Schantz expects to have a squad that will include familiar names like Dom Papa, Kareem Smith and Reid Schmidt from the club's initial PDL team in 2012, Edgar Reyna, one of the top players from this past season as well as three 17-year old players headlined by Salpointe Catholic junior Gavino Carranza.
