TUCSON (Tucson News Now) - The Golder Ranch Fire District has a new assistant fire chief.

Tom Brandhuber is accepting an appointment to the position. The district says he brings extensive experience and education from his time spent as the Fire Chief for Rural/Metro and the United States Air Force.

Chief Brandhuber's first day on the job will be December 9th.  He fills a position left vacant following the departure of Assistant Chief John Sullivan, who was named the Fire Chief for the City of Georgetown, Texas in January.

Golder Rancher serves areas of northern Pima County, including Oro Valley.
