TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona men's and women's diving teams will compete in the 6th Annual Wildcat Diving Invite this weekend, starting at noon Friday Nov. 22 at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center.

The event will continue at 11 a.m. on Saturday and 11:00 a.m. again on Sunday.  The competition will include top divers from USC, UCLA, Nevada, San Diego State, Wyoming, Boise State, BYU, NAU, New Mexico, UNLV and host Arizona.

Arizona has entered nine swimmers in the invitational, including NCAA champion in the 1-meter dive and senior Samantha Pickens. Joining Pickens this weekend are junior Izzy Diamond, freshman Sally Hackett, sophomore Karolyn Loftus and freshman Michal Bower.

The UA men's team will be represented by sophomore Rafael Quintero, sophomore Dominic Ricotta, senior Sean Clark and junior Carter Craft. Craft earned a third place finish in the 1m competition last year.

Quintero, the reigning Pac-12 Men's Newcomer of the Year, won the platform event at the Wildcat Diving Invitational last year, is coming off victories in both the 1m and 3m competition in the dual meet against USC two weeks ago.

Friday's opening day will include the women's 3m and the men's 1m competitions. On Saturday, the women's 1m and men's 3m will take place. Sunday's final day of competition will include the men's and women's platform event.

On Saturday, the women swimmers will have a dual against Boise State. The women are 3-1 overall this season after just narrowly falling to USC two weeks ago. Senior Margo Geer and sophomores Bonnie Brandon and Emma Schoettmer have made a big impact early for the Wildcats, posting top national times. Geer has the best time in the nation in the 100 free (48.83) and fifth fastest in the 50 free (22.57). Brandon owns a top-15 time nationally in the 200 back (1:56.72), while Schoettmer owns the fifth fastest time in the 200 breast (2:11.98) and the ninth fastest in the 100 breast (1:01.63).

About Boise State:

The Broncos are 2-2 on the season, beating both in-state rival Idaho and BYU. The Broncos have also earned a first-place finish in the Fresno Invitational. Boise State dropped dual meets to Utah and Wyoming. The Wildcats defeated the Broncos 166-108 in a dual competition last year at Hillenbrand Aquatic Center.
