TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Police ask for the public's help in identifying a suspect who attempted to rob a smoke shop.

Police said a man held up a clerk while armed at the "Maui Smoke Shop" at 1099 E. Broadway Blvd. around 5 p.m. on Nov. 12.

The clerk reportedly refused to give money to the suspect, who then left the store.

A few hours later, police said the suspect came back and allegedly threatened the clerk at gunpoint again.

The suspect fled on foot. He was about to drive off in a white 4-door passenger vehicle when the clerk chased after him. Police said the suspect fired back but did not hit anyone.

He was described as Hispanic, 18 to 23 years old, about 5'8" tall and weighs between 140 and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a navy blue "Rolling Stones" shirt with a tongue on it, navy blue basketball shorts, blue and black tennis shoes, black sunglasses and a gray hooded sweatshirt, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
