COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Some children being treated at a Columbia hospital got a very special visit this weekend.

Several former football players from Clemson University and the University of South Carolina visited Palmetto Health Children's Hospital on Sunday.

The players are taking part in "A Night with the Stars," a fundraising event benefiting the Palmetto Health Richland Trauma Center. The athletes also are going to the children's hospital, where they will visit with patients, sign footballs and be joined by their school mascots.

The players also got the chance to tour the trauma center.
