New survey reveals who spends more on holidays

With Thanksgiving a few days away many people are getting ready for a busy holiday at their homes.

A new survey breaks down holiday spending and hosting at home.

According to the Pultegroup Home Index survey, one the nation's largest homebuilders, the breakdown follows:

46 percent of American's actually plan to host holiday gatherings.

39 percent plan to go to someone else's home

15 percent prefer to just get away and not celebrate the holidays.

The survey also reveals who spends the most when it comes to holiday parties – men spend more than women.  Men spend on average $473 on hosting dinners and parties.
