Thanksgiving in the Barrio taking place today

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Today is the first day of meals for those in need this Thanksgiving week. 

One major meal is happening later this afternoon at the El Pueblo Center and the public is expected to start lining up soon near Irvington and 6th Ave. The meal – Thanksgiving in the Barrio. 

This year will be the 15th anniversary of this meal for those in need. It is more than a meal though; it is also a community health and resource fair where participants can get information from different health organizations.

There will also be live music and at least a hundred volunteers helping serve some 2,000 people a Thanksgiving meal. 

Serving will begin at noon and continue until 3:30 p.m.
