(RNN) - Nasty weather hampered holiday travel across the U.S. this week.

Snow blanketed parts of the Midwest and Northeast, which also saw strong wind gusts. More than 6,000 flights were delayed and more than 350 were canceled.

Connecticut officials released their findings of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre. The report said the shooter, Adam Lanza, had significant mental health issues, but there was no clear indication of the motive for the attack that killed 26 people.

Thursday was Thanksgiving. Millions of American families celebrated the day eating the classic Thanksgiving favorites - turkey, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie.
