DPS IDs 2 killed in interstate on-ramp crash in Phoenix

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Police said two people fell to their deaths after an accident on an interstate on-ramp in the Valley on Saturday morning.

Police said the victims were on one motorcycle that crashed on the stack where the westbound Interstate 10 meets the northbound Interstate 17.

The crash sent the riders over the edge to the freeway below.

The driver of the motorcycle was identified as John Carlos Sorto, 26, of Tempe. The rider was Audry April Smith, 25, of Tonalea.

The area was shut down for several hours Saturday morning.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

    A man entered the Walmart Neighborhood Market at Camino Seco and Broadway on Monday, Sept. 25 and began waving a gun around, according to Sgt. Kim Bay, spokeswoman for the Tucson Police Department.
