City of Tucson sprays bridges in anticipation of freeze

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Three spraying crews with the Tucson Department of Transportation covered more than 60 Tucson bridges with magnesium chloride.  The spray can last up to ten days on the surface to prevent the road from forming ice.  TDOT said that low dew points concerned it enough that it was spraying the bridges to ensure a safer morning commute.

The Pima County Department of Transportation said earlier in the day that it was not spraying bridges in case that more rain would wash the coating off of the bridges.  Whether in the city or the county, drivers should exercise caution.
