TUCSON, AZ (CBS5) -

CBS 5 News has heard from the father of two of the three sisters rescued from their mother's home in Tucson.

The three girls were kept prisoners inside their own bedrooms for up to two years.

Tucson police arrested the girls' natural mother, 32-year-old Sophia Richter, and her husband, 34-year-old Fernando Richter late last month after two of the girls escaped through a window about 4 a.m. and alerted a neighbor their stepfather was armed with a knife and trying to break down the door to their room, Tucson Police Chief Roberto Villasenor said.

On Thursday, two of the three sisters met with their biological father who had not seen them since the girls were locked up.

Their biological father tells CBS 5 News that the girls even had gifts for him when they met. They spent a few hours together catching up and he thinks they'll be having weekly visits.

The girls' mother and her husband remain locked up. Fernando Richter faces three counts of kidnapping, three counts of child/emotional abuse, three counts of child/physical abuse and one count of sexual abuse with a person under 15 years of age. Sophia Richter faces three counts of kidnapping, three counts of child/emotional abuse, and three counts of child/physical abuse.
