TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Nearly $137,000 worth of marijuana was seized by Customs and Border Protection officers at the Douglas port of entry in two incidents last week.

On Friday, an Agua Prieta woman was detained after a narcotics detection dog alerted to the presence of drugs in her tires. Officers found metal boxes in the tires that contained 169 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $84,500.

On Sunday, a Cananea man was taken into custody after officers found more than 104 pounds of marijuana in the rear quarter panels of his SUV. The estimated value of the seized drugs was $52,000.

The drugs and vehicles were seized and the suspects were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
