LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — The Arizona Diamondbacks (@dbacks) have acquired outfielder Mark Trumbo (@mtrumbo44) and a player to be named later or cash considerations from the Los Angeles Angels and left-handed pitcher Hector Santiago and a player to be named later or cash considerations from the Chicago White Sox as part of a three-team trade that sent outfielder Adam Eaton to the White Sox and left-handed pitcher Tyler Skaggs to the Angels.

The D-backs then sent Santiago to the Angels to complete the trade. The announcement was made by D-backs Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.

Trumbo, 27, established career highs in home runs, runs scored, RBI and games played with the Angels in 2013, hitting .234 (145-for-620) with 30 doubles, 34 home runs and 100 RBI in 159 games. Trumbo, who tied for fourth in the American League in home runs, was one of seven players in the Majors with 30 doubles, 30 homers and 100 RBI last season, joining Paul Goldschmidt, Jay Bruce, Chris Davis, David Ortiz, Adam Jones and Alfonso Soriano.

Since 2011, the 6-foot-4, 220-pounder ranked among the AL leaders in home runs (T-4th, 95), RBI (6th, 282), total bases (9th, 805) and extra-base hits (11th, 181). Trumbo, who hit 32 home runs in 2012, was the sixth Angel ever to post back-to-back 30-homer seasons and ninth player in the Majors to do so in the last two years (also Pedro Alvarez, Bruce, Davis, Adam Dunn, Edwin Encarnacion, Jones, Miguel Cabrera and Soriano).

Trumbo is a career .250 (429-for-1,718) hitter with 80 doubles, 95 home runs and 284 RBI in 460 Major League games with the Angels (2010-13). He was selected by the Angels in the 18th round of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft.

Eaton, who turned 25 on Friday, batted .252 (63-for-250) with 10 doubles, 4 triples, 3 home runs and 22 RBI in 66 games in 2013. He appeared in 88 games over the last two seasons with the D-backs, batting .254 (85-for-335).

Skaggs, 22, spent most of the 2013 season with Triple-A Reno, going 6-10 with a 4.59 ERA (53 ER in 104.0 IP) in 19 games (17 starts). He also went 2-3 with a 5.12 ERA (22 ER in 38.2 IP) in 7 starts with Arizona last season and was 3-6 with a 5.43 ERA (41 ER in 68.0 IP) in 13 career starts.
