Newtown Ben's Bells to mark shooting anniversary

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tomorrow marks one year since the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut where 26 people were killed, including 20 students.

Today the Newtown, CT, chapter of Ben's Bells will hold a special event.

The Newtown chapter was started after the Tucson group - which promotes kindness - brought bells to the community in a show of support.

They'll be honoring the Sandy Hook Elementary School families.

No formal remembrances are scheduled for tomorrow in Newtown.

Leaders in Newtown have decided against it to let families remember the day privately.
