TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The jackpot for this evening's Mega Million is huge - $586 million – the second largest jackpot in the history of the Mega Millions, and the fourth largest jackpot in North American in lottery history.

There is still time to get those lottery tickets.

The jackpot grew from $550 million to $586 million since there was no winner on Friday; and if there is no winner for tonight's drawing the prize could get even bigger.  Jackpots are determined on the forecast of ticket sales.  According to a lottery spokesperson, the ticket sales are higher than the forecast – the end result, a huge jackpot.

The cash option of this drawing is more than $316 million and the odds of winning any prize are 1 in 40, while the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 176 million. The largest Mega Million jackpot $656 million was claimed by a winner in March 2012.

Those interested in buying tickets have until 8 p.m. tonight.

Money from the Arizona Lottery goes to help several groups across the state – education, environmental issues and health and public welfare.
