SCOTTSDALE, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Chief Warrant Officer Joshua Silverman of Scottsdale was among the six soldiers killed in a helicopter crash earlier this week overseas.

According to the Army, Silverman and the five others died when their Blackhawk went down during a mission on Tuesday.  There are conflicting reports about if the chopper came under fire after it crashed.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is ordering all state flags lowered to half-staff for Friday.  "Our eternal gratitude is with CW2 Silverman and his fellow fallen heroes whose lives were taken in the crash, and our deepest condolences are with the families and loved ones in mourning," Gov. Brewer said in a statement Thursday.

Silverman and four of the other soldiers who were killed were stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas. Another was based in Europe. One soldier survived.

Services for Silverman are pending.
