AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -

The Southeastern Conference has fined Auburn University $5,000 for violating the league's field access policy during the Iron Bowl.

After Auburn's 34-28 win over Alabama at Jordan-Hare Stadium, thousands of fans rushed on the field.

The SEC prohibits anyone other than athletes, coaches, officials, support personnel and other credentialed individuals from being on the field before, during or after a game.

Two other SEC schools were also fined for violations this season. Missouri's $5,000 fine was for violations during its 28-24 victory over Texas A&M on Nov. 30.

Ole Miss was fined $25,000 because the university had a similar violation in 2012. This year's violation was during Ole Miss' win over LSU.
