Coach Jason Garrett holding out hope Romo will be back this year

(KLTV) -

ESPN is reporting that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is out for the rest of the season.

ESPN says that Romo was complaining of back pain after the first half of the game against the Redskins Sunday, and had an MRI Monday.

Apparently, Romo said following Sunday's game, "Whatever the kid did on that one play, it really sent something that didn't feel comfortable."

However in a press conference today, Garrett says that Romo hasn't been ruled out for a "winner-take-all" finale against the Eagles.

Garrrett also said that Romo will get a health evaluation following treatment each day during the week.

He said the Cowboys were looking for a third quarterback to add behind backup Kyle Orton. Orton has not started a game since 2011.
