Driver, person inside transported to hospital after car hits hardware store

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

On Tuesday morning, a car crashed into a longtime Tyler hardware store.

Just west of Glenwood Avenue in Tyler, at 1832 West Gentry, a blue sedan left the roadway and crashed into Tyler Hardware Store. The male driver may have had a medical issues while driving eastbound on Gentry, officials say.

Another vehicle, a red Toyota Tundra, was parked and had people inside it.  It was hit by the blue sedan on its rear end. The people in the truck are said to be uninjured.

The driver of the sedan was transported to a local hospital.

Another person was injured when she was hit inside the store. She was shopping near the front of the store and was knocked down when the vehicle left the roadway.She was transported to a local hospital, as well.

Witnesses say the sedan left the roadway, becoming airborne, then bounced off the red Tundra. The sedan then entered through the main doorway in the building.

We have been told that those transported did not have life-threatening injuries.
