Wildcats looking for 2nd straight bowl win in Shreveport

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Bowl season has already begun and the University of Arizona football team is heading to Louisiana this morning for their bowl game.

The Advo-Care V-100 Bowl, was also known as the Independence Bowl, is set for New Year's Eve in Shreveport, with the U of A Wildcats taking on the Boston College Eagles in an ACC – Pac12 battle.  Both teams have identical regular season records, 7 – 5; but it is also a battle of the running backs. Senior Andre Williams from Boston College has more than 2,000 rushing yards on the season and 17 touchdowns.

While Wildcat Junior Kadeem Carey has more than 1,700 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns of his own.  The Eagles are looking to get their first bowl win in six year, while the Wildcats try and make it two straight bowl wins.

Game time for the Advo-Care V-100 Bowl is 10:30 a.m. Arizona time.

There are still tickets left, they range in price from $25 to $47; it is a 16 hour drive to get to the stadium from Tucson, or a four hour flight.

Here on campus bowl fever is running high, the U of A Bookstore and the McKale Center are selling U of A bowl t-shirts.
