Tyler home a total loss after erupting in flames Sunday

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

A south Tyler home is a total loss after it caught fire Sunday afternoon.

Fire officials tell us the home located in the 63-hundred block of Sutherland drive caught fire around PM Sunday. This is located near the intersection of Broadway and Grande Blvd. near the Hilton Garden Inn hotel.

Upon arrival of the 2-alarm single story structure fire, crews found the home fully involved in flames. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the flames, but were unable to salvage the home that was ruled a total loss. Officials have also added that most of the contents that were in the home were destroyed in the fire.

A woman and two children live in the home, but were not home at the time of the fire. Officials think the fire may have started in the homes sun-room, but that is not yet certain and remains under investigation. Nobody was injured during this fire and authorities are continuing to investigate what may have caused this fire to start.
