TPD asks for public assistance in identifying a hit and run victim

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Personnel from the Tucson Fire Department and Tucson Police responded to a report of a man down near the intersection of West Drexel Road and South Liberty Avenue. 

According to Sgt. Chris Widmir, the call took place on Dec. 19 at about 6:30 p.m. 

Upon arrival, TFD personnel located an adult male pedestrian with life threatening injuries as a result of a hit and run collision. 

He was transported to a local area hospital where he remains in life threatening condition. 

Detectives from Traffic Investigations Unit responded the night of the incident to continue the investigation. 

Detectives are now seeking the public's assistance in identifying the victim. He is described as a Native American male, approximately 40 years old, 6'00" tall, 230 lbs, with short black hair and brown eyes. 

The victim's right eye is prosthetic. Detectives believe he may be a transient due to the condition of this feet, but he was clean with groomed facial hair.
