TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A fight on New Year's morning left two dead and one in the hospital in serious condition.

According to a release from Tucson Police, the department received a call just before 4 a.m. about a fight in the 2200 block of E. Sunland Vista. The caller said a group of people fought in the street and several were run over by a vehicle.

TPD officers arrived to find a 47-year-old woman dead and two more people injured. One man, age 32, died later at the hospital, while a second woman remains in the hospital with life threatening injuries.

The suspect's abandoned vehicle was found in a desert area near Campbell and Sunland Vista, according to the TPD release; witnesses stated the driver deliberately ran the three victims over after a physical confrontation.

Witnesses said a yellow sedan with "Yellow Cab" on it dropped off a man and woman at the scene before the reported physical altercation.

Police said Yellow Cab is cooperating with police, but they have no drivers on record near that location at that time. Police said the cab driver is a critical witness so detectives are asking for the public's help to identify him.
