TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A south side neighborhood was without water for several hours last night after a water main break.

The break occurred Thursday night on 36th near Country Club, it was a break that caused water to rush into the streets. All that water made it look like a monsoon had hit the area.

Tucson Police received a call around 7 p.m. Thursday evening about water on the road.  Tucson Water had to shut the water off in the area.

A hole was caused by the water line break, and a van had actually fallen into it when TPD arrived.  Inside the van was a woman and three children, all were able to get out safely and the van was removed.

Water remained off for more than five hours; water service has been restored as of early Friday morning.

There is no information yet on what caused the water line to break.
