CDO and CFHS soccer teams win at Walden Grove

SAHUARITA, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Canyon del Oro girls and the Catalina Foothills boys emerged as the winners of the 1st Walden Grove Soccer Invitational.

The Dorados opened with a tie to the host school on Thursday but won four straight including two matches Saturday to take the title.

CDO beat Sahuarita early Saturday and then held on in the championship game for a 1-0 win over Salpointe Catholic. Junior Natalie Rudolph scored the lone goal against the Lancers.

The Falcons posted victories over Sahuarita, Rio Rico and Marana on their way to the championship match where they beat the host Red Wolves 2-0.

Austin Annibal had one of Catalina Foothills' goals in the championship game.
