GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities arrested a Glendale couple in a shoplifting case in which a bystander fired shots after seeing a gun pointed at a store employee.
The incident happened Friday when a loss-prevention employee tried to stop a man and a woman leaving a store at Arrowhead Towne Center.
According to police, the woman pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the employee.
Police say a man waiting for his wife fired shots at the couple, who drove off on a motorcycle. There's no indication the shots hit anyone.
The motorcycle was found at an apartment complex, and police say 35-year-old Michael Hough and 33-year-old Shaasahna Hough were arrested Saturday night and jailed for investigation of armed robbery, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
It's not immediately known if they have attorneys.
