OVPD sends out fraud warning to residents

ORO VALLEY, AZ (Tucson News Now) - OVPD warning about fraudulent checks residents have been receiving.

According to a recent OVPD release the letters claim people have won money and then asks them to either contact an agent or pay taxes up front before they receive their 'prize'.

OVPD is stating these are fraudulent checks and ask that those who receive them dispose of the letters immediately. They also ask that residents keep a close eye on their bank accounts and to check them often, as well as check their credit reports to ensure no unauthorized accounts are opened in their names.
