NOGALES, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Agents at the Nogales border uncovered their first drug tunnel of the new year.

Nogales Border Patrol agents, along with federal police from Mexico, found an incomplete tunnel west of the Port Wednesday during a bi-national border sweep.

The incomplete tunnel started in Mexico, extends 133 feet into the U.S. and is about three feet tall, officials said. It did not open into the country.

Tucson Sector's Border Patrol continues to work closely with strategic partners in Mexico to detect tunnels.
