Front Street in Tyler reopens after wreck downs power lines

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Tyler police say a section of Front Street was closed for more than an hour tonight because of downed power lines on the road.

Police say a driver went off the road, and hit a power pole, knocking the pole down. The lines ended up on the ground, across Front Street. The 16-year-old driver was treated and released at the scene, but her name has not been released.

However, she was cited for failure to control speed, and driving without a license.

The downed power lines closed Front street between Fleishel Avenue and Baxter Avenue, while Oncor crews repaired the lines.

The road was reopened at about 8:45 Friday evening.
