TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The public is invited to a weekend walk as part of the mayor's million mile goal for the city.

The walk will last from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Armory Park, outside the Armory Park Center at 220 S. 5th Avenue, according to officials.

"Last year... I launched ‘Walk 100 Miles with the Mayor.' In less than six months, Tucsonans logged more than 44,000 miles!" Mayor Rothschild said. "Now, we're going for an even bigger goal - one that's going to take us a while to reach, but I'm confident we'll get there: one million miles!"

Officials said five times each week, 30 minutes of moderate exercise - including walking, running, biking and swimming – is one of the best things a person can do for his or her health.
