(RNN) - Seven Lakes High School in Katy, TX, was evacuated Monday morning after school officials confirmed they found a suspected explosive device.

According to CNN, authorities told district officials that a possible bomb was found in the building.

A suspicious backpack was found on the east side of the building near the ninth grade center, according to KPRC.

The students evacuated the school onto the Seven Lakes Junior High stadium around 10 a.m.

A bomb squad is on the scene and the FBI is also assisting.

The school district said students will be dismissed early.

"Students may be picked up by a parent or they may walk home. Students who do not have transportation will be provided Katy ISD bus transportation. Students who drove to school and currently have the keys in their possession may leave after their car has been cleared to go. Students with car keys in the building, or bikes near the building, are not allowed to retrieve them at this time," Katy Independent School District posted on their website.

Katy is about 25 miles west of Houston and more than 3,000 students attend the high school.
