Two Kingman residents are in custody following a standoff at a Mohave County mobile home Sunday, sheriff's deputies said.
A stun gun was deployed to subdue Gabriela Quintero, 38, after she put up a fight during her arrest and punched one of the deputies in the face, sheriff's investigators said.
Quintero was standing in the path of law enforcement personnel and tried to block them from entering the home, where authorities had spotted Zachary Russell, 24, who had outstanding felony warrants on weapon offenses.
Russell and Quintero fled into the home. Authorities set up a perimeter and used a public address system to try to coax the pair from the home.
Eventually, Quintero emerged and put up a struggle before she was subdued, deputies said.
Deputies finally moved in and announced themselves as they entered the residence. A police dog and his handler led the way. Each room was searched.
Deputies observed a small area of skirting missing outside the mobile home. The police dog was let loose and within seconds, the dog found Russell hiding underneath the home.
During questioning, Russell said the trap door was on the south side of the master bedroom, investigators said.
Russell suffered a bite on his arm and calf. He was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center, and then transferred to the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he underwent surgery on his arm.
Eventually, Russell was released, transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
During the investigation, deputies said they located two pipes with residue and two tin canisters containing marijuana weighing about 7 1/2 grams.
Russell was booked on charges of resisting arrest, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, two failure to appear warrants issued by Mohave County Superior Court, along with a misdemeanor warrant for failure to pay fines issued by Kingman Justice Court.
Quintero was booked on charges of hindering prosecution, aggravated assault on an officer and resisting arrest.
