SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Scottsdale police are looking for a man who jumped out of a car he was driving, stabbed an elderly man and then took off in the car early Monday morning.

The 75-year-old victim was walking near Hayden and Cactus just before 6 a.m. and as he was about to cross Cactus in the crosswalk, a dark-colored two-door vehicle stopped in front of the victim.

The driver got out and stabbed the victim in the stomach with a small blade knife before getting back into the car and speeding off westbound on Cactus.

Police said the motive is unclear because the suspect did not demand anything and nothing was taken.

The victim took himself to the hospital. He's expected to be OK.

Anyone with information is asked to call Scottsdale police at 480-312-5000 or 480-312-TIPS.
