TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Three people are in custody after Border Patrol reportedly found counterfeit money, guns and drugs during a vehicle stop.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents stopped three U.S. citizens in what authorities described as a suspicious vehicle on Highway 181 near Pearce, Ariz. on Jan. 10.

Authorities said one of the subjects tried to flee the area on foot and was reportedly combative when an agent tried to make an arrest.

Agents found two 12-gauge shotguns strapped onto the front passenger, and one was loaded, according to a news release. Agents also discovered one gram of methamphetamine and $29,000 in counterfeit U.S. currency, the release said. The three suspects were taken to  the Willcox Station.

The investigation is ongoing.
