SC guard Johnson out indefinitely with broken foot

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

South Carolina junior guard Tyrone Johnson is out indefinitely after suffering a broken foot during Wednesday night's loss at Texas A&M, Gamecock head coach Frank Martin announced Thursday.

After further evaluation in Columbia on Thursday, doctors have indicated Johnson's right foot injury will require surgery.

Johnson played in 16 contests this season, averaging 11.2 points and a team best 3.4 assists per game. He tallied 11 double-figure scoring games and 11 games with at least three assists. Johnson averaged 2.9 rebounds per game and hit 75.3 percent from the foul line this season.
