TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

In Tucson today there are a number of events going on to celebrate and honor the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

All activities kick off with a march at the University of Arizona. The annual march and festival celebration is expected to start at 8:30 a.m. today.  The group will meet at the University of Arizona Mall (eastside near Old Main), then hit the streets and make their way to Reid Park.

Once at the park the celebration will continue with a special program to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. at 10:30 a.m.  This year's program will also include a tribute to Nelson Mandela.  There will be guest speakers, music and food provided.

For those not able to attend the march, the Reid Park program kicks off at 10:30 a.m. at the DeMeester Performance Pavilion and will continue until 3:30 p.m.
