A suspicious copper sale and surveillance video from two different incidents helped Sierra Vista Police officers arrest a Bisbee man.
The man, identified as Richard Anthony Moots, was taken into custody by SVPD officers who linked Moots to two different incidents – a recent robbery at a car wash in Sierra Vista and a November 2013 shoplifting incident.
According to a SVPD release Moots was only taken in for the car wash robbery, but after he was in custody officers recognized Moots from a post on the Sierra Vista Crime Stoppers website about the 2013 shoplifting incident.
He is currently booked in to the Cochise County Jail and is facing two counts of burglary and shoplifting, as well as an additional charge of possession of dangerous drugs. According to the release officers stated they found an unknown substance – believed to be methamphetamine - on his person.
