(CNN) - NASA said a new study on Mars suggests multiple parts of the red planet may have once supported life.
Last year, NASA confirmed that mars had once been habitable, but scientists now say more of the planet may have hosted microorganisms than originally thought.
The new study was published in the journal Science.
It's been ten years since NASA first deployed a pair of robotic land rovers to explore the surface of mars.
Of those two original rovers, one named "Opportunity," is still working, and provided some of the data for the new study.
The newer, two ton rover "Curiosity," deployed in 2012 was the first to deliver news that Mars could be habitable.
