TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The public can walk through the lanes of aviation history in March when Davis-Monthan Air Force Base hosts its second annual Desert Boneyard 5K and 10K event.

The 5K fun run and 10K walk will navigate participants through hundreds of historic military aircraft.

The 309th Aircraft Maintenance and Regeneration Group stores and maintains the nearly 4,000 aircraft on its 2,600 acres.

Race officials said the run/walk starts at 9 a.m. on March 1 at the Boneyard on Kolb and Irvington, and must be finished by noon.

The 5K costs $30 and the 10K costs $40, or $5 more for those who register later than Feb. 1.

Participants under age 16 must have a legal guardian with them, and everyone will need to fill out an authorized release of medical liability.

Register for the event by Feb. 14 here.
